Feel fortunate that I can guarantee this will be the one and only post in which I quote a Michael Jackson song.
I hit the local Civitan (monthly flea market) this weekend and all the MJ paraphernalia was out in full force. Posters, keychains, albums, t-shirts. I'll not knock the savvy vendors moving "trend" merch when the market is hot, but....
I'm going out on a limb here, guessing that you, like me, don't go to flea markets looking for tube socks, worn baby clothes, crusty cookware, and MJ posters. But I'll sure wade through it to find:
Loads of good vintage stuff! The golf car sign is PERFECT for Dad's upcoming birthday; the matching set of 4 sweet hatboxes caused me to trip all over myself and actually pay full price; and the metal container, which is the most adorable eggbox you've ever seen, had me wishing my farmer grandpa were still alive! Oh, I had a good day!
Friday night, Jane (an ex-junker—she of the beautiful PEACE holiday decoration and whose husband is my junk fairy) called to ask for help pricing things for a tag sale she was having to offload her mother's estate. She'd gone through a lot of it, but needed some help, and was a tad verklempt. I'm not a yard sale kind of gal, so couldn't help all that much, but told her I'd come back in the morning to help and to buy. She had 6 crusty motel chairs (which sold), but she sold me this wrought-iron patio sofa for $10 (her suggested price)!!!! I know, I KNOW. I just opened up a second booth in an attempt to offload my excess garden junk, to which I am so partial. Who am I kidding? I'm a downright patio-furniture HO. I'm baaaaaaad. You know it.
I would have hurt you to get to that stack of hat boxes and by the way, I hate to say I told you so, but.....! Now I'm off to look up "verklempt".

Okay, wait, how does one (your friend Jane in this case) become an "ex" junker? I would LOVE to hear that story! Excellent goodies and the name "VRS al fresco" is perfect.

Oops - my blog address was wrong and it was directing to a funky site. :)
And I'm loving your garden stuff. And the MJ song. :) Thanks for being so fun.

I'm thinking if she's truly an "ex-junker" she's broke, in a nursing home or on life support. that's the only way you escape the addiction!

Wonderful finds and, at the very least, you are "a downright patio-furniture HO" with fabulous taste!
