Saturday, I woke up earlier than usual (and earlier than I felt comfortable) so felt at odds with what I should do with my day. I wasn't feeling the estate sales. I knew I had to get more merch if I wanted to re-load the booth. I wasn't feeling like hustling for good junk.
Pennsylvania! PA is my go-to state for great junk at killer prices. I headed to my fave town, hitting some new spots. Both had super-high collectors' prices, and I was feeling discouraged. I hit my junky spot, but only got a single crate and 2 books. WTF? Did I waste this trip? THEN, I hit a new-to-me mall that ROCKED. I made a spectacle of myself, making multiple trips to the front desk for my "pile." In fact, I did it so frequently, they eventually started watching me on the surveillance tapes, and sent runners to shuttle my merch to the front desk—white glove service. Should I be flattered or pegged as a crazy compulsive shopper?
The icing on the cake was this chippy yellow CLAW-FOOT dresser. Of COURSE I had to bring it front-and-center in the refoof today.
It also meant some rearranging, with helpful advice from my sister. At first, I was concerned that so much stuff was jammed in one corner, until I realized I needed to pay heed to my #1 rule: never underestimate a shopper's desire to DIG. Dig away, shoppers.

Your booth looks great!

If you make it as far as western PA, like an hour or so north of Pittsburgh, I'll pass along a name to you ... nice, nice stuff and good prices. I was regretting that I didn't need furniture when I was there last week.

Love the dresser Sue, your booth looks great. I scored at an auction this weekend. I left bids on some great victorian frames & got most of them. Would have stayed & bid but after standing all day at my show was just too tired. Going to try to hit it again next weekend & see what else they come up with, since it is a new auction. Good luck if you go to the Flea this weekend.

Dying to know where you went in PA. Unless it's a secret, in which case, I completely understand. I get territorial about the places I find good deals... :)
